April showers bring May flowers! Which means lots of fun, outdoor activities around Ottawa this May. But before we enjoy May, let's look back on April. Activities for kids We enjoyed a ton of great activities this month, including playing Dragon Soccer, trying out Salsa Baby and visiting the Valleyview Farms. We also spent sometime outdoors creating treasure hunts for your kids, taking a walking adventure and exploring Andrew Haydon Park.
Books We sprang into Spring with the Ottawa Public Library and some more great book suggestions!
Crafts We had a lot of fun crafts this month including a Pirate craft, turning nursery rhymes and fairy tales into puppets, painting with marbles , making place mats, and making things with found materials.
Easter Easter has come and gone but there are some fabulous ideas here to keep in mind for future years, or crafts that can be done for fun any time! We spent some time making Easter eggs, had an Easter egg hunt, made a bunny puppet craft and chicks. We also spent some time talking about Easter traditions.
Parenting Tips A great parenting tip we talked about in April is babysitting swapping. And in anticipation of May 2, Election day in Canada, we talked about teaching your kids about an election. Don't forget to go out and vote tomorrow, and bring your kids with you!
Sugar Bushes The sugar bush season is coming to a close but we visited one more in April: Sand Road Maple Camp.
Kids in the Capital turns one We turned one this month! It's been such an incredible first year. Thank you so much to everyone who reads, writes and takes part in our community!
